Monica joins Burgeon with over six years of civil litigation experience managing a caseload of contract, tort, banking, and domestic relations claims before state and federal courts on behalf of individuals, corporations, and governmental agencies. For nearly three years, her practice has focused on representing long-term care facilities litigating elder law and Medicaid issues.


  • Monica earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center where she began litigating in the clinical program, Law Students in Court, and competing for the Barristers' Council Appellate Advocacy Division. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies from Harvard University.

  • Monica is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia, the United States District Courts for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

  • Monica is a native Washingtonian where she currently lives with her husband.
